Rhodes dropped their final game, the SCAC 3rd place game, to Centre 3-1 today in regulation play. The Lynx only goal was scored by junior Morgan Jane Mischer; it cut the Lynx t deficit to one goal with 8 minutes to play. The Lynx continued to pressure but their hopes were dashed when Mary Kate Clodius scored the Colonels final goal on a penalty corner play to put them up 3-1 with just under 4 minutes to go. The game was lopsided with Centre controlling first half play with 14 penalty corners and 6 shots on goal to Rhodes' 1 penalty corner and 1 shot on goal. After half time adjustments the momentum switched with the Lynx coming out strong and controlling second half play with 13 penalty corners to Centre's 3 and 10 shots to Centre's 2. Rhodes' Julz Anderson and Centre's Ann Guagliardo had 3 saves each for the game. The Lynx field hockey team ended their 2007 season today at 11-7 overall, 10-4 in region, and 6-4 in SCAC play. Rhodes placed four players; freshmen Erin Atmar and Charlie Wagner and seniors Sara Haney and O'Brien Wolff on the All SCAC squad. Atmar was honored as the SCAC Co-Offensive Player of the Year and Wagner earned SCAC Newcomer of the Year honors.
